Privacy Policy

Mangaka.app ("Mangaka", "we", "us") is operated by Thinkprompt PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Mangaka, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at https://www.mangaka.app and to our mobile applications.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, name, and profile picture with us; we never receive your Google password. We request only the basic profile and email scopes needed to identify you.

Content you create. Prompts, scripts, outlines, character descriptions, art-style choices, uploaded reference images and photos, and the manga pages generated from them. If you publish a story to the community, that story and your author name become publicly visible.

Payment information. When you buy credits or a subscription we record the amount, currency, product, and transaction status. Card and bank details are entered directly with our payment processors and never reach our servers.

Usage and device data. IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language and locale, pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and error diagnostics. We also log generation activity, credit balances, and credit consumption to operate billing and prevent abuse.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and measure aggregate usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though sign-in will not work without the essential ones.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate manga from your input and deliver it to your account
• To create and secure your account, and to authenticate you
• To process payments, allocate credits, and honour subscriptions and refunds
• To operate community features such as discovery, leaderboards, and published stories
• To monitor reliability, debug failures, and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
• To enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations
• To send service messages such as receipts, security notices, and product updates

We do not use the content you create to train our own AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. AI Processing and Service Providers

Generating manga requires sending your prompts, scripts, and uploaded reference images to specialist third-party AI providers that run the text and image models on our behalf. Which provider handles a given request depends on the model and art style you choose. These providers process your input solely to return a result to us, under their own terms and privacy policies, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We also rely on third-party providers in the following categories:

• Cloud hosting, databases, and file storage, for running the service and storing your stories
• Authentication providers, including Google Sign-In, for signing you in securely
• Payment processors and app-store billing platforms, for purchases, subscriptions, and refunds
• Analytics and error-reporting tools, for measuring aggregate usage and diagnosing faults

Each provider receives only the data it needs to perform its function and is contractually required to protect it. You may request the identity of the specific providers we use at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, product improvement), consent (optional analytics and marketing, which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

5. Data Sharing

We share personal data only with the service providers listed above, with a successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition, and where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users. Aggregated or anonymised statistics that cannot identify you may be shared publicly. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers.

6. International Transfers

Mangaka is operated from Singapore and our providers operate data centres in several countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

7. Data Retention

• Account data is kept for as long as your account is active.
• Stories and generated images are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
• Payment and transaction records are kept for up to 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
• Server and security logs are kept for up to 90 days.

When you delete your account, we remove your personal data and unpublished content within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep. Backups are purged on a rolling basis within 90 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

You can edit your profile and delete individual stories at any time from within the app. To request a copy of your data or full account deletion, email [email protected] from your registered address; we respond within 30 days.

If you signed in with Google, you can revoke Mangaka's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

9. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, strict access controls that keep each account's data separated, time-limited links for stored images, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Mangaka is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and the UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the Effective Date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or through an in-app notice before the change takes effect.
